jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Welcome to talking grit. I'm Jason Harwood and with me to help break down this week's Three win is Jacob Litton. Lions came out with this. It's great when 23 over a very physical Arizona Cardinals team, Jacob, let's start with just overall thoughts or, things that you thought were interesting in the game.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Uh, overall thoughts. It was a good, complete team win. The defense really, really came through this time. Defense played extremely well. The offense was still able to move the ball, make the most out of our opportunities for the most part. Yeah, I mean, just overall good team win. I'll say go to all around football for us. What were your first thoughts?

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. I love the way they started this game out. Just, we're going to run the ball. We're going to just. Tell the Arizona Cardinals and, whoever's watching, this is what the Lions do. Seemed like they got away from it last week for whatever reason. If that's what the defense dictated, I'm not sure. But it was just nice to just see them come out and be successful with it too. I mean, they've ran, pretty much all the way down with Dave Montgomery. And then it's the same thing with Jameer Gibbs, the next drive. So really, really impressive offensive line, uh, play too. Seems like everything just got back on track in this game and we played Detroit lions football.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Absolutely. Yeah, it was perfect. Uh, run first, but mixed against some good throws. And, uh, yeah, I mean, that just, that's exactly, You talk about how the great game script, like how you wanted the game to go. That's pretty much how you wanted the game to go.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

We dictated what that defense should be doing. Like we were like, we're the Detroit lions. We got, an awesome offensive line. This is, how we win football games, come and try to beat us. And, and they couldn't, um, well, what hasn't been Detroit lines football, at least the last couple of years is the defense playing as well as, as well as they have, especially the last couple of weeks, just playing really, Just good overall football. It's only going to get better once Terry and Arnold gets his, gets more experience. We might be a little disappointed with some of his past interference penalties. he was in position, but just not looking at the ball and his past interference play. He's not getting blown out at the line scrimmage. He doesn't look lost. He's just, either he's not getting his head turned around on the ball or he's just being too handsy. I think all those things will be fixed with more experience,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Definitely. The coverage is there. we saw that throughout training camp and everything too. He, has very tight coverage when he's man, he's on you. He's, he's hard to beat. Definitely, concerned about the pass interference penalties, but, it's the first couple of weeks of the season, it's his first, real game action against some of the top wide receivers. And I think. Defenses, uh, are opposing offenses have already picked up on that, and I think they're trying to almost throw it his way just to get those penalties just because they know he is just, he's right there. He's just a second late on getting his head wrapped around, and a couple of these calls really have been, 50 50, whether they be called or not, but it's just head's not around all the way, and he's just making too much contact. In today's nfl, it's just very very easy to draw those penalties And if your head's not around the receiver is very very easy for them to uh, know, it's different I guess you don't wouldn't say flop But you know It's one of those things where the receiver makes it look like he's going for the ball when he's not he's trying to draw the penalty similar like on the defensive line You know when you're trying to draw a hold and your arms kind of foil up in the air You make it look like you're being restricted more than you are. Those are just very quick You Very quick plays, it's very hard for the refs to get those 100 percent right in live action. And that's why you just gotta get your head around and be making a better play at the ball versus playing at the receiver.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Lions fans that they remember Darius slay had a rough go and definitely a much rougher go than Terry and Arnold. I mean, uh, in my opinion, dare I say it was getting burned on a lot of plays and then he came back and, a second year was. Much, much better. Terry and Arnold is ahead of where Darius Slay was. He just is going to need to keep improving. And I, and I think he will. And I also agree with you with your point about teams targeting Terry and Arnold, once you get in the book about having passed interference penalties, they're just going to keep testing you until you don't get those penalties. So he's going to just have to, just. Be more conscious of looking for the football and, keeping his hands, off the receiver,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

And he did make a couple nice plays though. I mean, he did make some nice plays in this game. They tested him and he, he answered for sure, but he did have the penalties. So it wasn't a 100 percent clear game, but I mean, I thought overall it was really good for him.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

no, I agree. And second half, they tried to test them. It feels like second half, uh, Kyler threw the ball up a few times, just trying to draw one of those penalties. And, uh, Tarion play good coverage and, and we got enough pressure on Kyler that he wasn't able to make, very crisp throws, especially that second half when they were trying to come back there. Um, One thing the Lions will have to work on is penalties. They had nine penalties for 79 yards. Some of them were, pre snap penalties too. That's very uncharacteristic of a Dan Campbell team. So I'm sure that's being talked about. That's going to be worked on. We gave up five first downs through penalties alone. Um, that's, obviously not good. So we're, we'll have to work on that, but that's a small, we won the game, so ultimately, that's what's important. Right.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Definitely. That's all that matters at the end. Having the score when the game's over.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Just because this is something that's talked about that two minute warning call, um, The whistle blew. So if you watch that, I watched the replay again on all 22 film, the offensive line just kind of gives up and just allows that pressure to hit Derek off and, he throws that. He just lets go of the ball and they catch it. But the whole team had given up by the time that he threw his pass. So it's pretty much a non issue. The ref might've blew the whistle early from the two minute warning, but regardless, he, the play was dead. So it didn't matter.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, uh, I texted you, I, that exact same play is the same kind of stuff that's cursed Alliance forever, though.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

of things happen to us. Big momentum shift. Usually we're on the other end of it. We don't usually come out on the right side of that, but When you're looking at it, watching on TV, with the broadcast and everything like that, those clocks aren't 100 percent synced exactly right. And when you watch it live, it looked like we got the ball off and it looked like we just given up a pick six. And then even when they're slowing it down and trying to look at the game clock. It's really hard to tell whether it was at two minutes or not, but the ref blew the whistle. I mean, and they replayed it with the volume and everything. You can hear the sound from the stadium. They definitely were blowing the whistle as the play was happening before the interception happened and everything. So, I mean, they were trying to blow it dead, so that's not on them,

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah, no, it's, it just, the optics, again, if you're a Cardinals fan, you're like, this is crap. We got seven points taken away. If you're a Lions fan, you're like our team gave up, they blew the whistle. So, but I agree if I was Cardinals fan. I'd be really mad about, because seemingly you've had a touchdown. Before we get into the game, there was, yesterday was a really physical game. Uh, ended up with a lot of lion's injuries. Um, and we've got some not so great news. Today, some decent news for some players. So Derek Brown, it seems like he's going to be out for, they said a significant time, seems like there's some damage to a ligament. It's not torn. They don't believe, but so they think there'll be back through the season, but we don't, we don't know how long exactly right now, Eileen McNeil went down. He only played 16 snaps in that game. I was kind of surprised. I thought he had played more than that, but only 16 snaps before he went out with a shoulder injury. Uh, that seems like week to week, so it sounds like Aleem, um, may avoid IR. Frank, right now the news just came out. We're recording this, um, right around 9. 45 right now. Like, within the last hour, hour and a half. Frank right now, it's been reported that he's got a partially torn back. Uh, it says that he should be good. It says week to week. We know that Frank is a tough son of a gun. So, if he can play with it, he's going to play. I'm sure he had to have a slinger, or some, some sort of support, but. That's going to probably affect his ability to block. You would think, um, Marcus Davenport, the oft injured defensive, uh, edge is out for the season. And, um, Brian branch is, he had that nasty hit. He even tried to like avoid and get out of that. And the receiver kind of, The receiver ducked his head to try to protect himself. And they ended up just, I'm, I'm pretty sure Brian branch was knocked out in that game.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

that was a tight end too. It was a bigger guy. So, I mean, yeah, violent collision.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

was. And so one thing that I was encouraged by is that after Brian went to the tent, he was out talking to teammates. So, and he seemed to be pretty with it. So I, not that, we can read too much into that. It's better than him being taken to the hospital or something more severe. So he was out, at least talking with his teammates. So we'll, we'll see. I mean, we don't, hopefully there's not much more injury, uh, stuff to come out. Hopefully Alex Anzalone can play next week. Cause with Derek Barnes being out, that, the, I like our linebacker room, but you know, depth is going to be an issue if we, if we're out Barnes and Anzalone for any period of time, you

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. That's going to be really hard to make up for both of them being gone.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, so let's get on and let's, uh, let's talk about this win. This is, last week we had to suffer through talking on a loss. This week, I was so excited to talk about, there's so much cool stuff in this game that happened that I want to talk, uh, talk about. First thing, we don't really ever single out special teams, but let's single out Jack Fox. Let's talk about him really quick before we get into the defense. Punted the ball five times, four of them were inside the 20. He had the two, the 12, the nine and the seven yard. And he had one touchback on that touchback. That's when they had a penalty on Arizona. So even that was at the 10 yard line, it was weird. Pin Arizona back constantly. And it was a big difference in this game.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Absolutely. It limited their offense, but what they were able to do and how much field they had to work with. And, it really affected their offensive game calling, which, in turn made our defense even better. So definitely, heck of a game by Jack Fox Because we have to point out while we're on special teams. Uh, It's not as big of a deal right now because we came out on the winning end, but our rookie kicker did finally miss a kick. He missed an extra point. Looked like he was trying to kick a 70 yarder on the extra point. Which he's had this problem. It kind of what we saw in training camp. He's got one strength. It's full full strength. Just boots it He misses the extra point. What were your first thoughts when that happened?

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

was like, yeah, I'm hoping that it doesn't come back to bite us when they kick two field, when Arizona had to kick two field goals and put us up by seven. Then I was like, okay, well, at least we would tie, but then, you start going through, I was like, man, they could, we would add a force them to do a two point, Luckily, none of that happened and, we avoided all of that, but yeah, It, it is what it is, kickers miss extra points. The first extra point he kicked was not cleanly down the middle. It was off to the, it was off to the right a little bit. So

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

a little right

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I, I kind of questioned whether he made that one at first. And then the second one, he just sailed, that was pretty considerably right.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yep, can't make a habit out of that.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

No,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

we said doesn't doesn't really matter this game Obviously you want to make all those, but

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

right. We'll be, uh, holding our breath when he kicks his next extra point for sure.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah,

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

All right, let's get onto this defense and what, what a defensive performance this was. Um, what do you want to start with Jacob on this defense?

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

uh, really, I mean, of what we talked about the keys of the game before we, I know I said it, we've got to keep the run game in check. We've got to limit the running back. We knew Kyler Murray was going to, be getting some scrambles and everything, but we, I wanted to make sure we stopped that run. We know we have a great run defense. We were without Anzalone. are we going to be able to stop? Uh, James Conner, where are we going to make them one dimensional? We killed it. We really just killed it. Uh, James Conner, 9 carries, 17 yards. He also only had one catch out of the backfield. Just really took him out of the game. The other running backs combined for 15 yards. leading rusher, as Baker Mayfield was for the Buccaneers, their leading rusher was Kyler Murray. And, uh, Kyler Murray's rushing yards all came on the first two drives. Or the first

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

First draft. Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

first couple runs. Yeah. Um, after that, we really just took that out. And that was huge. That really was the difference in the game, is making them one dimensional.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. Kyler ended up with 45 yards rushing. I remember in the, my, one of my keys of the game was to hold them under 50 yards, so we hit that, which I was super happy about. But like what you just said, 34 of that 45 was on the. And the first drive, he had a scramble and, um, to get a first down. And then he had that 21 yard run. And on that 21 yard run, if you watch that Barnes got sucked in and he did not hold the edge. Whereas we were really good at holding the edge that whole game. I think that accounts for, um, and Hutchinson in particular did not have as much pressures, but I really feel like he was a Holding his edge to not let Kyler, cause they were getting enough pressure up the middle, uh, with reader. They were just getting enough push up the middle to, uh, affect the pocket that they didn't have to just, uh, Hutchinson didn't feel like he had to do it all on his own. Um, just going back to Kyler Murray's rushing. So after that first drive, he only had three rushes after that. He had a three yard rush, an eight yard rush, and a one yard rush. The eight yard rush was when they were, they were pinned on the goal line. It was like third and nine. He only got eight because Kirby Joseph stopped him. That one yard run was on that fourth down play. Where they originally called him, they said he got the first down, but I knew live that he did not get that first down. And I was so glad that they challenged that. And I was so glad that they had a good look at it because it was very clear that his knee was down and that ball wasn't even close to being over that line.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

That's actually one of the key plays I have listed. I know we're talking about that, but you know what? We're bringing up right now. I'm just gonna give you my quick breakdown. Fourth down stop was off of an interception by golf. He was pretty clean up until that point. He just didn't see the linebacker. It wasn't very good throw. We turned the ball over. They start in our territory. Best field position they had all game. It's halfway through the third quarter. They still are trying to establish the run. They run the ball three times and they still only get nine yards. They set up fourth and one they're down by 10. This is, one of those times where are they going to go for it? What are they going to do? They decide, they're, they want to keep the offense out there. They want to go for it. That's just absolutely huge to be able to stop them on fourth and one. And, wasn't, wasn't a bad play call. They take Kyler Murray running to the outside, Carlton Davis read that very well, and he was with him step for step. He really got there and limited his ability. They obviously, they call it on the field that it was a first down. I thought he was short also, but know, they do those replays. They have a really nice replay cam where it's like synced up where you can see a hundred percent clearly, like he's not even close. Like he was barely at the line of scrimmage when he went down. Um, but anyway, that was just my, it was an important play because it was important drive. Also, we stopped the run again on those four plays. They get nine yards. They completely abandoned the run after that drive. That's the middle of the third quarter. They found out they couldn't move. If they weren't gonna get it done deep in our own territory, they weren't gonna get it done at all. They only ran the ball one more time after they drive, and they got negative yards. They had zero rushing yards in the fourth quarter. That's how big that was right there how huge the defense stepped up and really just took him out.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, I know. Hindsight's always 20, 20, but you. I think he kicked the field goal in that area. I really do. You're going to get within one score in the fourth quarter and in your hope, because then they would have later on when they got the field goal, they could have played that differently. They could have went for it forth down there. Um, it was a huge momentum switch cause we had, golf had given them great field position. That was obviously the best field position that they started out with all day. And. Golf just didn't see the, didn't see the linebacker just back up. He was looked like he was going to rush. He backed up, run right in the lane, stepped right in front of Brock. Right. Stole, took that pass. But, um, as far as the defense, yeah, they, they just killed it. That first drive, um, it was a little rocky with Kyler Murray cause they came right down, but after that, they just locked that down. That was the best performance I've seen against a Russian quarterback. Uh, running quarterback that I've seen the lions play in my time, watching them, they really were disciplined. And, uh, the whole line was really disciplined. The, when that 21 yard line, 21 yard run, if you watch that Barnes gets sucked up and does not hold the edge and Carla goes around the outside and you could argue that Barnes was held, do you see a Jersey pole?

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I think he was just. kind of late getting around I know what you're talking about. It was kind of one of those close plays, but there wasn't enough.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

well, I mean, in barn, even if he's not held, I don't know if he catches Murray. Cause he just got sucked too far, too far in there. I mean, that was, at the beginning of the game, it's all, for they get a holding penalty, it gets first and 20. You're thinking, okay, we, we, we're in good position here. And then, they run for 21 yards and it was like, oh, this is going to, how this day is going to go. But that was it. That was it after that, like I said, a three and an eight and a one after that. So they did. It was pretty amazing. I was really, um, encouraged by that. Lions had two, fourth down stops. We just talked about the one where we stopped Kattler. The other one was interesting. They were at midfield and it was fourth and seven. Um, and they went for it. Did you find that odd?

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

you know I think that they just weren't moving the ball and they knew they were running out of time, right? mean

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

it just seemed like they had a whole quarter.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

weird,

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

right. Exactly. That was at the beginning of the fourth quarter. It didn't seem like it was desperation time yet. I don't know if they liked something that they saw, on that drive or whatever they were doing with the ball. They, maybe they had a play dialed up. They thought they're going to be able to do it. Um, I believe. Uh, that that was one They were trying to dial up to their tight

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. They just over shot.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

a play on that, right?

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

They, I think it was just overshot, I'm pretty sure. I just found it just odd to go, like, I understand if it's like fourth or two or fourth and three and you're at midfield and it's fourth quarter, but fourth and seven just seemed, it's not like they were gashing us, passing the whole time. So I, I, I just found that very. Very shocking. I also think they knew that we were running the ball on them. So maybe they thought we were going to just continue to run the clock out. But, uh, I, I, if Dan Campbell made that same decision right there, I don't know if I'd, I wouldn't have agreed with that.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

You better have a really good play drawn up for if you're trying to end fourth and

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

something outside of the box, something, specific for this game that you guys practice or worked on for situations like this. That's what I was saying. I don't know if they thought that they had that, if they liked the look that they got, but you know, it just didn't work.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Just to go back to Kyler Murray. We talked about his rushing. Let's talk about a little bit about his throwing. The previous week he had lit up the Rams with all deep shots and he was like a perfect throw. Six for six or something like that.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Right.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

We Uh, held them to just one, only one catch or one reception, um, on seven attempts, and then one of those was that terrible interception, golf through a ball. I didn't see that. Didn't see, we just, he just didn't see that linebacker. I don't know what Kyler saw when he threw that up. They caught us a little off guard because we weren't in position. And so I think he just. Thought we were going to hike it up, but Kirby Joseph was in perfect position. Terran Arnold wasn't lined up,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

That's exactly what I was gonna say is I just, we were late getting over there. There was a, kind of a communication between Tarion and, uh, Kirby Joseph. Tarion lines up over Marvin Harrison, and then I think that Kyler thought that Marvin just beat him deep. don't think he realized that Tarion had the under and that Kirby was running over top.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah. That's what he, I mean, it's obvious that he didn't see him. Cause I mean, you talk about an easy interception, I mean, and we can't blame it on the end zone. Cause the end zone was painted red and, uh, it wasn't like, uh, Kirby was hidden like they said with the Matthew Stafford thing. Kirby's gotten two picks and they're both been in the end zone, huge, um, huge plays.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

was easy,

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

exactly how he draws him up. I mean, we, we talked about him playing center field. That's what he's comfortable in, and that was, a good play. That was a routine fly ball.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

He just drops back. He sees it the whole step of the way he, he beats Marvin Harrison to it in front of it. It was just a great play.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

probably could have returned it a little

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. I think he just, I, with Kirby, I was kind of surprised that he didn't, cause Kirby usually will do that kind of stuff because, there didn't seem like to be a lot of traffic out there, but I'm glad he downed it. It's. I think it's better that way, but yeah, it was, that was awesome. So I went through Kyler Murray's first three games. So his average time to throw in the first week was 3. 19 seconds and went down week two to 3. 1 seconds. This week was at its lowest, 2. 88 seconds. So I think the Lions, it shows the pressure that we were given. He was having to get the ball out quicker. Um, This is a really cool stat though. I think it shows how, how much better our secondary is. So they, in the next gen stats, they will look at tight window percentage. Week one, 16. 1 percent of the throws were in a tight window. Week two, 14. 3 this week, 29. 4 over double of last week. It just shows how, how much stickier we are in coverage. Uh, and That you got to be extremely accurate to get the ball in there. We know that Stafford can do that. And he showed that in week one, um, we know Baker Mayfield isn't as good as Stafford about getting in a tight window and same thing with Kyler Murray. So it just shows that we're, getting stickier in coverage. You could have a quarterback like Mahomes or, Stafford, those types of quarterbacks, they'll be able to get it into tight windows. But, these other quarterbacks, Kyler Murray being one of them, All right. Couldn't get it in there. So I, I was really encouraged by seeing that stat of how much stickier our coverage was than the other teams that they faced in weeks one and two.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

definitely I mean, I feel like most most of our defensive backs They just seem to be right on the ball Like when we're in man coverage or really this last game even in zone Uh, we were really quick to get the coverage on there was all over the place again I know he had a couple more pass breakups, six tackles in this game, you know He's just he's been a menace this year for us. He's been great

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, I think, um, unleashing him and allowing him to move all over the field and safety is, is paying dividends. And it's going to continue as he gets more and more versed in, in communication with Kirby and, our secondary comes together. Be pretty happy that, Carlton Davis, led the team in tackles this week. Just he's all over the field. He's, uh, he's involved in the run game. That's, we have worst out at the line, but our secondary is very good at stopping the run. And it's, it's obvious that it's a point of emphasis with Dan Campbell to the, through his tenure here, and you could see it pays dividends because it, it just eliminates the, That possibility. And now you're making it one dimensional. And now that we have some secondary to stop secondary players to stop these passing, we're, we're seeing, just better defense on the field. It's it's, it's really encouraging.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Absolutely. I mean, this, this kind of game is exactly what we wanted when we were drafting and bringing in these defensive backs. This is what we expected to look like. And yeah, very encouraging to have a good showing out.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. So like I said, we gave up five first downs due to penalties. We're going to have to clean that up. Cardinals did not give up any. Uh, first downs through penalties. So, we have, we have to clean that up and I'm sure Dan Campbell will. Um, but the defense is looking good. We are right now. We're sitting as a defense sitting at, um, number 10 and yards per game given up. So I know they're doing Monday night games, so that doesn't include these, but these are the yards per game. So it's an average per game. We're fourth and rushing yards per game and 14th and passing yards per game, which is. Way significantly better than last year, the rushing is fourth. That's a little variable because we're in week three, but I really, that's what we needed. We just, we didn't need the, the past defense to be number one in the league, but we needed to be at least middle of the pack. Um, so our offense can, catch up and be able to, put some points on the board.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Absolutely. Do you have, um, you talked about the penalties. How many personal fouls did we have?

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I didn't.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

the one on Josh Pascal, right?

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

So we had, So we had Jalen Reeves Maven had one, and that was like, um, on the Cardinal's last drive. Cause he like did that late hit and then we had a, then we had a roughing the passer. I know that. So those are the two that I'm aware of. Did we have more than two? I

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I was just trying to think, I couldn't think of him.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

think those are,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Roughing Passer, I forgot about Reeves

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah, I kind of just dived on that pile late. I would just,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

the play was already over, but,

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

you shouldn't have done it, but

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

really hit him that hard. It was kind of, he rolled over the pile, but I don't know. I don't know why he did that. He's a pretty smart player. So that was, um, we're luckily, it didn't cost us anything. Um, but anything else you want to add on the defense side of the ball?

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

No, I think we touched on everything.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

just really good. Hutch got his, another sack. So he's up to what? Sick. Is it six and a half now? Yeah. Six and a half. So through three games, it's pretty good. I think, five games in a row. I think that's a franchise record. So. Good game for Hutch, and we'll, we'll see, how it goes. He's going to have another mobile quarterback coming up this week with Gino. Um, so we'll, we'll see. He's a little bigger target than Kyler though.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Right. not quite as fast.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Not quite as fat.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

just because Kyler Murray had a couple more opportunities to run. definitely were playing the game plan was to, make him uncomfortable, put the pressure on him, but we're still containing the edges. And he did kind of dance around and get a couple more throws off a couple of times that maybe he could have taken off. But for the most part, we were right there. And, with a couple of hits, couple of hurries in a sack, just, doing what he does,

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, I, it was encouraging. I especially, um, I was a little worried with Anzalone being out. He's the one screaming around, making plays, catching up to the quarterback. And then I was, when he was out, I was a little concerned. And then Derek Barnes going out early, they key only played like 11 snaps. Yeah. He only played 11 snaps in the game. Uh, Derek Barnes are like our Swiss army knife back there can rush. He can. Drop back those type of things and you never know what he's going to do. It's, I was a little concerned when, I was even greater concerned with down Barnes and Anzalone, but you know, Malcolm Rodriguez, I think played a hundred percent, uh, snaps the held them in check. I think really a lot of it's our defensive line held the edge and kept him in the pocket and we just kind of crunched the pocket and he, we rushed him a just enough that he made errant throws and wasn't able to. We had the tight enough coverage that he had to be accurate with his throws. He didn't have a large window to, to throw those passes.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

right. And, they really, uh, they didn't try any kind of like running back any screen or swing passes out quick like that. I don't really recall them doing that with their running backs at all. It was almost like they had to keep them in for extra protection.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, they were, I think they were running a lot of jumbo sets, just like, when we talk about the Lions offense, they were running a lot of jumbo sets. Both those teams wanted to set up the run, just the Lions defense is much, much better at stopping it than the Cardinals defense was. Um, let's move over to the offense now. We're going to start with Jared Goff, 18 for 23, 199 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, you got Dave Montgomery again, uh, thoroughbred, that we got 23 carries for 105 with a TD. Um, well, I don't know how many of those yards the offensive line should get some rushing yards for carrying. Montgomery for five yards on that one play. That was, that was so awesome.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Hey, the defense is the one that picked him

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

It's not our fault,

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

We just pushed

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

We just push it.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

5 or 6 out

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I don't know if I've ever seen anything like that, that play. That was just funny.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

ride.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

said he was laughing the whole time that he was out there. And I, when he hit the ground, I could see him smiling. You could see him. Smiling that I was like, that's, that's just crazy. And then, Gibbs had a great game to 16 for 16 carries for 83 yards. And then he had the funny stat line of zero receptions, but 20 yards and a touchdown, because, they got it on the hook and ladder, but it shows up. I was wondering how that was going to show up, but it shows up as receiving yards, but it's zero receptions and zero targets. So, um, we passed to him a lot the previous game. We did not pass to him. Other than this hook and ladder play, we did not pass to Gibbs once, which I found interesting.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Right. Demo got a couple catches, but

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, not Gibbs. Um, last week we were one for seven on the red zone this week, two for two in the red zone. So that w that was awesome. And another thing that was kind of interesting is we, we talked about us running so much in that, uh, in. The beginning of the game, we ran a lot of, heavy, like 12 personnel. And that meant we're going to have a couple of tight ends in there. Brock Wright was in there, had four catches on five targets, and a lot of the, all that was in the first half, the one that he missed on a target was the one that golf through the interception on. So it was nice to see Brock get some, get his hand on the ball. He did more catches than Laporta. It's crazy.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, right. I think he was open. They were kind of giving it, you

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Give what the defense gives

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I know and he was getting first downs. It was it was very encouraging. Um, we had 12 rushing first downs, which is Love that. And we're, we'll get to talk about one of my favorite rushing for sounds a little bit later on when we talk, um, we did miss on the one fourth, the one fourth down that we ran to demo got, got blown up pretty early. So no, otherwise that would have turned into some points too.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

That first down was made on the third down. I think

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

pretty confident we were going to be able to get it. And we, we fell short.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. I really, if you look at the far side ref on that third down, he marked that he got the, so I don't know how it got moved back so far. I don't know. It, it, I.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

miscommunication between the line judges there and then

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

in a fourth down for

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

exactly.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I was pretty, that, I was pretty sure we were going to get it. was a hundred percent okay with going for it on fourth down there.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I thought we were so close that they might even just push golf up there, and just let him go. But, Dave Montgomery back there squats, 700 pounds or whatever he squats. You can, give it to him. And, but unfortunately it didn't happen. Yeah. We held the ball for 37 minutes, almost 37 minutes compared to 23 minutes, Arizona. We. Did exactly what we wanted to do. Got the ball out of Kyler Murray. He can't dance around and do all his stuff. Our defense is well rested. It was. It was a good offensive game. I really, that was what I want from the lions. I mean, I would like a few more points, but I really feel like that second half, Dan Campbell knew the defense was playing well, we were shutting the Cardinals down, he's just playing that field position game was what, as well as Jack Fox was kicking it. The thing that saved us, even though we weren't scoring points is that lines weren't going three and out. They were getting, a cup, one or two first downs enough to, uh, Get good field position, kick it. And then we just, Jack Fox just pinned him down. And, um, since, Arizona didn't have a running game. That meant they were playing behind the sticks the whole time. And when you're down in your goal line, that's not a good place to be playing behind the sticks.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, it was just working. You're right. There's no need to switch up the game plan or do anything, not take too many shots deep or anything like that. When we've got the lead late in the game, there's just, it's unnecessary golf. I think he hit, he hit like the first 10 or 11 passes in a row or something like that. I mean, he, he only had like the one incompletion for a little bit there

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

of that interception. I know. He was a little late getting the ball to Jamo on that crossing route where he caught the ball But he was like just out of bounds. misread him going deep another time But I mean overall pretty solid game from Goff. That's you know, that's what we want Don't throw don't throw unnecessary balls Don't try to make something out of nothing stick to the game script and if our running game is working and we're only throwing You know to mix it up when we have to good things happen.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. I liked what I saw from golf in this game. He wasn't skipping passes in there. Like it seemed like he was doing in Tampa Bay and he was just, we were hitting guys in the middle of the field, uh, and he was accurate. We could talk about. The Amin rock catch on the last drive where it was third and 12 hit him for 18 yards, but that was with two 20 left on the clock. That was a play that we saw or type of play that we saw over and over again last year. And Dan Campbell trusts Jared golf to make that throw. It was, I mean, that for all intents and purposes that clinched the game, I think, had we run out the clock, even with Jared golf, wouldn't have rushed for that first down on that sneak. They would have had like 25 seconds and they would have been pinned again because Jack Fox would have probably pinned him in the 10, um, just from where we were on the field. it was nice to see that game for, for Jared Goff. We knew he had it in him. He had a lot of time back there to throw it. And he just, he was able to put accurate passes on his receivers.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Uh, good, good bounce back game for Goff, for sure. He needed that.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Let's talk about a snake at the end of the game. Uh,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

You love

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I do love it. Cause like last year when I would do a parlay, if I was ever betting, I would always put golf for less than one yard this year. You can't do that. Cause every game he's rushing and it. It just seems like last year there was opportunities for golf to rush for a first down, but he just never did. Seems like he's taking those opportunities and just like, okay, I can, get enough wheels to get the first down. I, I think it's a great call, this sneak, because if they don't get it, he's not going to throw it. He's just going to You know, again, we were, they would have got the ball with like 20 some seconds left. So I think it's a great play. If you look, the defense just has, there's only one guy on the field that, that, is following golf and that's guard deck. And he must be pretty slow because he couldn't catch up with golf.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. I don't think he thought he was really gonna take

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, I mean, he comes in and he's on golf and then golf just, bootlegs out and, easily gets that first down everybody else has sucked all the way in, expecting us to run it out the middle. So it was, I think it's good because even if he doesn't get that, say he loses five yards or whatever, as far as field positions, not going to matter because we were, close to midfield. Fox would have been able to pun it and we had a clock would have just run, but you got all the benefit of everybody going out the middle and golf is just, scot free to ice the game.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Goff's been known to, uh, not have steady hands on the ball when he's running, though, either.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

That's true.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

It was a good play, though.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

it was, he would have just, he would have just went down easy. I think golf's smart. So I, I think he'd have been fine. What did you think of the, Golf pass for the touchdown to Amin Ra right before, it was like right, 30 seconds before the half. Did you, I mean, if you watch that play, Gibbs is wide open too.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Right, right. I think the first read probably was right there to Amun Ra. He's got the former Lion, Starling Thomas, on him. He's got the inside, he's got the open middle of the field. that's a, that's a throw and a catch that they make probably nine times out of ten. So there's no need to, actually it's funny because I think that's what we were doing last week maybe or what he was doing before either he's getting rid of the ball too quick or he's letting the play develop to the point where his receivers aren't open anymore. And this time it's like, it's right there. This is how he's supposed to, uh, I'm on Ron makes the move. This is where the ball is supposed to go. He nails it right there.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

it was a tight window. It was a good throw. It was a good catch.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

celebration.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

That's his first read. And I think once he stuck to the outside and then made that in break and there's no one underneath that throw, he knew he was going to throw it to him. But on, when you look at the replay, again, Gibbs is standing right. Um, basically on the front of the goal line with no one within two yards of him. So is, if he's a second read, he was going to get the ball and get a touchdown to that celebration. Did you like it? The CPR celebration or no, he was a dog celebration. Yeah. Yeah.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

the

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. I like that. That was good.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

That was a streamer. Uh, I think it's Kai Sinat that I think he told Travis Hunter for Colorado that he should do that. And Travis Hunter did that in the Colorado game. So it was cool that I'm in Rob brought that out to the NFL. Uh, Yeah, all over Twitter and everything. That was awesome.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, that was pretty good. Now I like that a lot. Um, now, now let's talk about the hook and ladder play. That was a heck of a call. And I think that comes from Ben Johnson, going one for seven in the red zone, he's like, no, we got this in our back pocket. We're going to score on this one.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, uh, you can see there's some videos from Amanran in the tunnel where they're watching the play right after the game, it's like their first reaction something that they practiced, something they were ready for. And, when they called the play, they, they liked their odds. They liked their chances here. That was just awesome to see live.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

And what,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I'm on Raleigh had the ball just for a split second passes to Gibbs. And then sure enough, everybody, forgets about him. And then it's all it takes is an extra second of space and Gibbs is gone.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah, well, It was like the perfect play call for that zone too. Cause I'm in rock cuts in, gets the ball and there's really no one around him he's got a pretty clean at lane to throw to Jameer and no one's even around him to bother the throw. And so everyone, if you look just the momentum, everyone's following Amin Ra and then, Gibbs is going with a full head of steam cause he comes out of the backfield, he's not touched or anything. He just comes out and just is able to run freely on that route. And, man might've been different if there'd been man defense, it would have been tighter in there, but that zone, it was perfect. And then Gibbs is just running full speed, the opposite way of, um, or I'm in Ryan disabled to take it to the house. It was, that was,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

that, right, that was

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

the only bad thing on that was that LaPorta got rolled up on the end. LaPorta was on his man and then he just, someone rolled up on him underneath. And yeah, I think he, that's when he injured his ankle. But, other than that, that was. That was sweet.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Definitely.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

So, it was just a good offensive showing. I know we didn't get as many points, but I really feel like, uh, that was part of the game plan in the second half that we knew we were going to be able to run on them, just play the field position game. And, felt really confidence with our defense and it was obviously the right call. We won that game, uh, and was able to just pin Kyler back and he wasn't able to drive his team down the, down the field. Um, we're talking about our offense. We, right now we are fourth in the NFL in yards per game, which, I'd say that's pretty good fifth and rushing yards per game. And I think we're six and passing yards per game. People say, what's wrong with the offense? Cause last week we didn't, didn't get in the red zone. We're not putting up as many points, but I really feel confident in this offense to be able to, if we need, if the lines need to do a shootout yesterday, They might've had, they might've been able to do that, but they weren't forced to do that. So why put the ball in harm's way when we know we can just rush the ball and, play good defense.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, we don't need to try to put up 70 points every game. We've got a good defense, we've got a good overall football team. Um, we're hard to break, right? We're gonna be in these games, and, we've May mean some of them are a little bit closer than what we want, but we still we're competing, we're a deep team and we're going to be able to get it done.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. When you hear, the team or Dan Campbell's a complimentary football, this is the exact game that he's talking about, right? The special teams pins them deep. The defense, does what they're supposed to do, gives the offense a pretty good field position. The offense, if they can't score, they're at least not going three and out, they're getting, better field position, two or three, four first downs, and then having to give the ball back. So even the one play that we, the interception that golf through on, on, Our side of the field, then, we were still able to get out of that with zero points because they decided to go, we stopped the defense, stopped them on fourth down. So it was just a good overall, I felt really good about this team. These are the type of games that in the playoffs or late in the year that you have to be able to win these tough battles and just be able to play smart. Football, patient football. And that's exactly what I thought we were doing here.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

And it's only week three. I mean, we're still getting the ball rolling here. It's a long season. So

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yep.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

trying to figure out some of these things now and getting everything hampered out. We're a late season team

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yep. Well, I mean, that's what, Dan Campbell does his signature move where he puts his arm, his hand up and he, we got to make slow improvements throughout the whole year, because, you gotta be playing your best ball at the end of the year. Um, quick thought that I had, we were just went through all the injuries and stuff like that. And, before, when we go through our season preview, we're like, early season by. That might end up working out to our advantage with as many injuries as we just accumulated this weekend. Um, It's good to have the early buy. We're going to need that extra week.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

right now. It looks that way. We're hoping, early by kind of an early reset, but we'll see how much that affects us later on. But, this was also. Uh, this was our away game. We talked about how we don't have too much traveling or, uh, in between there's no short, short games or anything like that. So, to come out on top of the first away game was really nice.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Was it an away game though? It's a lot of blue in that stance.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

50 50 probably,

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Hey, who?

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

know, did you see the, like, when they first let people in? It was almost all

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

none of the Cardinals fans got there early.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

I know. Well, I, you figure if there it's an away, if you're traveling that far, you're going to get there really. Cause it's a special game. You're getting there away, but. one, one thing that I just love about our jerseys, the blue ones are, we're the only ones with that color. So when you see it in a stand, you know that it's Alliance fan. I love it. It's just so, it just stands out so much, especially when there's as much there, I mean, I don't know. Did you see the video of the Jared Goff chant before the game?

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah, I did.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

then I don't. Like if you look really quickly they scan like there's like some Cardinals fans at the bottom and like two of the Cardinals fans start Chanting Jared Goff and I was like, I was like I I was you know writing this up in this morning this morning and I hear from the kitchen, my wife just starts laughing and I was like, Oh, she's watching some sort of funny video. And she goes, have you seen this Jared golf video? It's like, yeah, I saw it. She goes, did you see the Cardinals fans in the front chair? Change our golf. I'm like, yeah, I don't know what they were thinking. So I'm thinking it's like either people that weren't true fans and they just were like, well, they're saying Jared golf. I, I'm going to chant this guy. Maybe he's one of our players, but it was just hilarious that, we're in Arizona and an away team and we're chanting Jared golf. It's, it's great.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

man, the grit is contagious.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

is it's,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

drinking the Kool

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

it is, it, we got the loss last week, bad taste in everybody's mouth. And we just came and, uh, the Cardinals are going to, they're going to surprise some teams. I, they're a good team. I'm proud of this when they play. That was a tough game. They want to establish the run. We were just able to dominate and stop that. Um, there's going to be some other teams that they're going to be able to run out, run on, and, they're going to be tough if you're trying to stop the run and you have to commit. Eight men on the box because Kyler, if he gets outside the pocket, he'll pass Marvin Harrison jr is going to be, he's going to, he's a good one. So he's going to be, a great weapon for Kyler to have, but it was a good win. I'm happy with it.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Definitely.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Let's, uh, before we head out of here, a couple of things. First, let's, uh, our grit guarantees. Mine was Jared golf throws two TD passes, hit that in the first half. Um, and you wanted to go perfect in the red zone and went two for two. So. There we go. We're we're good. Good to go on that. Um, one thing that, uh, just overall about the podcast, uh, Jacob and I had a pretty significant moment last week. We hit 10, 000 downloads total, which, I understand bigger podcasts hit that, probably on a weekly basis or whatever, um, we're just. Two lions fans that, uh, whatever reason people are listening to, which we really appreciate. And so this is not a brag about the 10, 000. This is more of an appreciation just. It's amazing that, um, that we were able to create something like this. And I, and I want to thank Jacob for being along on the ride and I thank everybody for listening because it, it means a lot to me. And, uh, do you want to say anything, Jacob?

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

No, just a surreal feeling to hit that number. Every, every milestone that we've hit so far just kind of still seems crazy.

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

we're even, having any kind of moderate small success that, you know. We're just two lions fans talking football and to have the support of everybody has been huge We really appreciate

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah, we, we really do. I mean, and, along the way we've had some help, Jeremy Reisman coming on was huge. Justin Rogers coming on, those types of things that, um, those are the type of things that we dreamed would happen a lot later on. And we just happened to, for whatever reason, we got that opportunity early, earlier than we expected. And it's, it's been a pleasure to be able to just talk lions and, um, Being able to, just share all this excitement with, with, with everybody. And, uh, just, last, I didn't mention the last week, but, I was at the stadium and one of our listeners was there. I got, got to meet him face to face and we talked and he asked me for a picture, which that was, Was blew my mind and I couldn't believe that someone wanted a picture with me. I'm just, a regular lions fan. And, uh, so that was really cool. So like a lot of this stuff has been really, really neat and just, uh, the community has been great. And I, I, again, I just appreciate everybody for, for hanging in with us. And, um, as we kind of get all this stuff down, we've been really lucky to get a good guest. Uh, speaking of good guests, we got two kids. Good ones coming up this week with the Seahawks matchup got, uh, Brandon Crane from the Hawks nest, um, big YouTube, uh, Seahawks channel. And then we also got, um, Michael Duggar from the athletic, uh, beat writer for the athletic for, so we got two interviews coming up this week. I can have lots of good information for you guys on this upcoming Seattle matchup. Big Monday night showdown right before our break. And with a team that we have not had very good luck with lately. So let's hope we turn the tide here.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

right prime time game again Hopefully the debut of the black uniforms,

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

So what it's looking like, it's looking like that, I know you worked a very long day today, uh, Jacob, so he's probably, you're probably, I know you're really wiped out.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

the Twitter

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

Yeah. So the lions, uh, sent a picture and says, it's like a title of it's time. And then it was the. Motor city muscle, like helmet, like kind of, uh, and shadow. And they changed the background of the Twitter page.

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

They've been doing that every week They're toying with us. This was a date. We circled though that we we were pretty sure it was

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

If it doesn't come this week, then, uh, they're really messing with us, but it's, I, it's going to happen this week, but we could talk about that on Wednesday when we. We do our little, maybe we'll have more information by then. Um, uh, yeah, we'll be back on Thursday, with our game preview. We're going to see how these interviews go. If there are two of them are pretty long, I might release one separately. I'm going to kind of see how that, that goes. I haven't done two in, in a while. For one episode yet. So we'll, we'll kind of, I don't want to have like an overly long episode just cause I don't want to overwhelm, um, anybody cause I know once we get above an hour, it starts to seem like it's a, uh,

jacob-_1_09-23-2024_212945:

when it's talking about the other

jason-harwood_1_09-23-2024_212945:

yeah, tough, uh, tough to swallow. So we'll, we'll kind of play that by ear. So you might have one or two episodes, just depending on how, how that all breaks down, but I'm loving learning about these other teams, the, the people that we've gotten have been. So I'm, and we already got the Cowboys lined up for after the break. So it's, uh, it's working out well for, uh, for us and our listeners. Cause I think, from what we've heard, the response has been great on those episodes. So again, I want to say appreciate everybody for listening and, uh, let's enjoy this win. I know we got some injuries, but let's, let's just enjoy this tough win. Uh, let's get in, uh, take it to Seattle, Seattle. They haven't played anybody of, of, of note yet. They're going to, hopefully we can open their eyes to, what it means to play a playoff team. Um, so, all right, for Jacob, I'm Jason. Let's go lions.
