Jason Harwood:

Welcome to another episode of Talking Grit. I'm Jason Harwood and with me is Jacob Litton. We are back to talk about the Lions and some other off season topics. just released a list of the top 50 free agents. So we thought we'd look into this year's free agent class, how it relates to Lions and the rest of the division. We'd also thought since we're going to get into the free agent talk, let's look at last year's free agents and trade pickups and let's just see how they turned out see the free agents. We let go, see if Brad Holmes did a good job deciding to let them see if the grass is greener on the other side. The pro bowl games were just finished up. Jacob and I weren't huge fans of that, but still there's a couple of interesting tidbits from that. So we talk a little bit about that, maybe propose some new events that we would add to the games. But first, on Saturday, there was a big NBA trade. Luka for Anthony the brow, And That's kind of came out of nowhere. This isn't an NBA podcast, but it got us thinking, what if we had to propose a big lion's trade that was a blockbuster maybe on the same level of that. So I asked Jacob to come up with a trade. I came up with one on my own. Let's see, I'm going to start with you, Jacob. First of all, how are you? I'm good watching the Pistons. Close game against the Hawks. Yeah. They're starting to pull away from us, so we'll see. Yeah. Yep. So if you had to do a blockbuster trade with the lions, did you come up with one? I came up with a ridiculous one, but I just want to, because it was hard to kind of put that in Lion's perspective, but I do have a decent comparison for what this would be like for NFL terms. I think this Luka trade would be like sending Josh Allen from, if you're Buffalo, it'd be like sending Josh Allen in the middle of the season to Pittsburgh for TJ Watt. Huge blockbuster trade and then you know, you've got the the GM for Dallas or in this case, it'd be Buffalo like well You know defense wins championships and he's too good of a player to pass up and you know You'll you all see when we start winning. It just doesn't make any sense You know look at the face of the franchise and everything like that They're losing a lot of fan support. I don't think it's going to end up you know, too good for him over there in the Mavericks. But, if we're talking in terms of Lions here, and this is not a trade I want to happen, but, I think that would be sending someone like Amun Ra St. Brown over to the Raiders and getting Max Crosby. Okay. You know, you're losing star offensive player, you're getting a star defensive player, it's like, you know, is that really a wash? Or, you know, So that's the comparison that I have here. What do you, what are your thoughts on a trade like that? Yeah, definitely would never do it, but yeah, I think that's the thing is like this trade on the NBA doesn't make sense. So this lion's trade is not going to make sense, but Right. to put something up on that magnitude, what would you do? We're never trading Amun Ra. That's crazy. Mine was JMO. I was going to trade JMO. I'm going to trade him over to the Jets, send him over there and Glenn, but I'm going to take Sauce Gardner back. So we're going to get, you want to get a star defensive player. I want to start a defensive player back. We might need some help at cornerback. So that was the only thing that I could come up with. Like, how are we going to benefit this team? And I said, JMO for sauce. You're the last flyer fetch though, because I don't, you know, I think you might find a pretty good amount of people that might, you know, be okay with that trade. yeah. From the Lions perspective, I don't think the Jets want Sauce to go, No I think if you ask Lions fans, if we were able to trade, first year true, true. first year. So you might see a little bit, but I have a feeling he's going to have a pretty good year under Aaron Glenn. I don't know. Does sauce like go up in the run game? Cause that's one thing that I had read that maybe he hasn't as involved, you know, in stopping the run game. And Aaron Glenn's going to definitely require him to get his nose in there for sure. Right, right. Yeah, that's our ridiculous trades that we proposed. There was, you know, when we were, I had written this up yesterday. Let's just talk about this. And then today get released that Miles Garrett asked for a trade, which obviously all Lions fans are going to be in when they hear the name. Miles Garrett. We were really interested when we needed some help during the season, get end up getting his teammates, the Darius Smith and said, and Cooper cup is looks to become available on the trade market. So any of those, are you interested in either of those players? In regard to a That you'd have once you get him here. I mean I don't know if you're giving up two first rounds, then you're just going all in next season. You've got miles, Garrett and Hutch. That's tough. I, you know, that's a toss up for me about whether I would do that or not, but the history that we have with the draft and being able to build from within, especially when you get these rookies on the rookie deals and you know, they're able to perform right away, the road, Brad Holmes drafts. I don't know if we can give up two firsts like that, but it would be intriguing. As far as Cooper cup goes, I don't know exactly what they're going to be asking for him. He's also a good player and somebody that I would definitely, you know, welcome on the lions team, but same thing. Who are you really giving up for that? And is that worth it? And I don't think it would be for Cooper Cuff. No, I don't think they'll add. I mean, I'd love to have Cooper cup just in a vacuum. Would you like to have him on your team? Yes. First of all who's he replacing in the lineup? don't know who he would replace. You know, you're not going to take Amin Ra off the field. Dude. JMO is different than Cooper Cup. Are you going to take him off the field? Yeah. Okay. You kind of would have an interesting situation where all three of them, well, I guess not quite as much with JMO, but really, I mean, you'd be able to take all three of them and you'd be able to put them in any kind of position that you want. You could shuffle them around. They're not guaranteed to be on the outside or slot. You could throw a lot of different looks out there with those three. Yeah. You definitely could. I just don't think you're going to get as much benefit with our roster of having Cooper cup. Miles Garrett. Yeah. What I, if I don't want the trade because of what you said, the cost, it's going to probably cost a minimum two first rounders, right? Plus either a player or, you know, more draft picks. I just don't think they're going to let them go for anything less than that. They've are on the record that they don't want to trade them. Now that could be just. We're going to try to get the price as high as possible from the Browns, or, you know, they actually don't want to trade them. I, if that happened and we got them, would I have a miles gear Jersey? Probably, cause that would be amazing. However, I think at the longterm of the team, it's, you're not going to be able to, it's going to delay signing Hutch or changing. You know, that money's, it's going to be hard to line up. So I just don't see, I just don't see us being in the market for a trade there. I, but what, you know, the same thing with Max, if we got him, I'd be, I would have a Max Crosby Jersey. That would be awesome. But I just, from what it's going to cost, those edge players aren't cheap. They are next to a quarterback. They're one of the hardest positions to get on your team. And once you have them, you don't let those players go, at least not for cheap. Absolutely. So sorry, Lions fans. I don't think Miles Garrett, you're going to see him in the Honolulu blue next year, but stranger things have What? How amazing would it be if we could? Yep. All right, Jacob, this week, ESPN released their top 50 free agent lists for the NFL. some of these players may the franchise tag. This is, you know, this list could change definitely by time mid March when free agency actually happens. Let's start with first let's start with outside the lines, NFC North free agents. Do you want to go through the players in that top 50 list that involved NFC North. Yeah. So this is obviously it's ESPN's rankings. This is nothing that we came up with. This was just how they have it lined out based on who are the free agents this year. So the top NFC North free agent, they have Sam Darnold. Is ranked number six. Cam Robinson, the Minnesota offensive tackles ranked 14. Byron Murphy, the Vikings cornerback, is ranked 20. Then we have Cam Bynum, Minnesota safety, number 29. Aaron Jones, Minnesota running back, 33. Tevin Jenkins, the Bears guard, is ranked number 41. And then you've got Keenan Allen, the Bears wide receiver, at 49. So a lot of Vikings on this list. Yeah, the top, what, the first five players are Vikings, and then the last two are Chicago. I don't see any Green Bay players on there, so they don't have and they're not going to lose anything from their team, at least as in the top 50 for agent look any of them. I mean, that's pretty big for Minnesota and if it's offense, half of it's defense and you could say a Sam Darnold that big of a loss, he did get a lot of stats for them. I mean, I know he collapsed at the end of the year, you know, they're going to still have to replace that. Can JJ McCarthy do it? Who knows? Yeah. I mean, that's a lot of key pieces that they're going to have to try to put back on that team. It'll be interesting about Keenan Allen, you know, if he decides to resign now that Ben Johnson's over there, will that, you know, will he want to resign to be a part of that offense? And then, you know, Chicago's offensive line wasn't that great to begin with, and now, you know, they got a guard, a free agent, so we'll see if they let him go. There were two lions on this list of the top 50 number 23 was Carlton Davis number 35 on the list was Kevin Seidler. Will the lions re sign either one of those, Jacob? I think they absolutely are going to be putting calls in and making attempts to resign both of them. I guess I would think more likely they would resign. I think Ziegler would be easier to get a deal done than Carlton. I'll put it like that. I think Carlton Davis played very well last year. You know, he's going to have a market. So. Maybe he's looking for a little more money, you know, who knows? I, I want both of them back. And I definitely think that Brad Holmes is going to be trying to get both of them back. It's just going to be, you know, a money issue in my opinion. How do you feel Yeah, I'm right there with you. I think I think Kevin Seidler, if the lines want him back, I could see him definitely back. He signed a pretty modest deal last year. He's one year older. very productive for lines. I would love to have him back. And so I think that, you know, as long as he enjoyed his time here, I could see him just getting re signed, having Hank Frehley come back, Probably helps that, you know, continuity there. Davis is going to be an expense issue. And I know the line's got some dead cap money because of, you know, restructuring his deal last year. So they might be able to play with that and be able to help Carol Carlton out and, help our cap situation out. But it just depends on what he's going to be able to get on the free market, you know, Aaron Glenn, our buddy, the old defensive coordinators over the jets, you know, maybe he wants Carlton over there, you know, who knows where in the jets? You have some pretty good corners right now, but right. You know, but they do have good corners, but it's again, you got to play a certain way for Aaron Glenn. And if you're not willing to play that way, you're not going to be there. I don't know enough about their corners. We already talked a little bit about Sauce. Who's the other one? Reed? Is it Reed Yeah. DJ Reed. Yeah, Reed's their other corner. I don't really, I don't watch enough Jets football to know how they play. Yeah. I can't really speak on their tackling abilities either. And you know, who knows, but people are going to be a lot. And if you're looking for a good corner, Carlton Davis is a good corner. He played really good coverage the lions before he got injured. And yeah, I would, I like to have him back. Yeah. I just don't know with all the players that we got to resign, Kirby's going to be looking for a big deal this off season, possibly obviously Aiden is the biggest one on this list. Are we going to have money to go around or are we going to. You know, either try to draft someone or we're going to hope that maybe a meek plays the outside and rake straw goes into the slot or we sign another slot corner, we got options, but yeah, what I like to have Carlton Davis back again, yes, it's just a matter of cost and what he can get elsewhere. For sure. Yeah. So on this top 50 list, Jacob, was there any players that you saw that, Hey, you'd be interested in the lions looking at you know, definitely there's some good players on here. I mean, if we start, though, with just as far as like what, what positions they're going to target or where they're looking, because, you know, the positions of need, you'd say guard edge rusher. We need another corner. And this all depends right there with Sightler and Carlton Davis, because if we resign those guys, we can probably afford to throw a little more money at an edge defender. Maybe, you know. Ideally, these are pieces that we build in the draft. But if we're looking at these top guys, you know, if Carlton signs elsewhere, there's a couple other corners on this list. I don't know, you know, for sure. But Traveris Ward doesn't like you know, once you get out of San Fran, I think that would be a good player that we could get in here. Byron Murphy, the corner out of Minnesota, be kind of nice stealing him. Yeah. you know, it's two birds, one stone and they don't have him. We have him. You know, there's also if you're talking about another wide receiver. Obviously I do not want to overpay for T Higgins or something like that, but you know, further down that list, Darius Slayton from New York, you know, talking about stealing from NFC North, if Keenan Allen's looking for a place to win now and wants to, you know, take kind of a more of a veteran deal if the price is right. I don't think that's going to happen, but you know, those are the two options to get another wide receiver in here too, because we do need more wide receiver depth. I just think that's probably more likely going to be built in the draft. What are you thinking though? Who on that list is catching your eye? So if we don't get Zyler, I'm looking at the guards that are on that list. You know, you got Zack Martin for the Cowboys, number 21 on the list. We'll freeze the guard for Indianapolis. would be good guys, but those they're Zack Martin, maybe on a one year deal. He's getting kind of older breaking down a little bit. So I could see He might be the same age as Aitler. yeah. And. You know, you're kind of, if you're the Lions, you're probably looking for a stop gap deal and letting your, you know, mahogany develop a little bit more depending on what you plan on doing with Graham and all that stuff. Got James Daniels, a guard out of Pittsburgh that's on that list. And we talked about the Chicago guard, Tevin Jenkins. So there's a fair amount of guards in that top 50 list that you could look at if we want to. You know, go outside the draft. I know the lines usually like to, you know, build the lines in the draft and look for like stopgap help. I still want to overwrite any of these. I'd rather just get Zeidler back here and You know, you're, I don't know if we talked about it at work or if we talked about it on the podcast, you know, Graham slipped a little bit, you got Mahogany, say Mahogany jumps Graham, and you still have Zyler over there, you know, Graham's a good top backup, he's starting level backup to have, play all three of those interior positions, so that would be good. The edge players are just going to be are just going to be probably too expensive. I think Clio max is probably going to get more than. Then what we're going to be able to afford to play for an edge player on the opposite of Hutch. Would I love to have Khalil Mack just for a season or two out there? Yeah, and then you let Zadarius go. The other one, Hassan Reddick, not interested in Hassan Reddick. I don't think, I don't think Brad Holmes would be either. Who else is in there? No the name that was sticking out to me, so like, ideally, let's say we were able to get Zeitler, we're able to get Carlton back, you know Josh Sweat from the Eagles is out there, But he actually, I think this was just today that I saw this, that he signed with a new agent with Drew Rosen. So then that right away is a dead giveaway that this, you know, they're getting a max contract for this guy. Like, you know, that's top dollar for sure. Which is weird timing that the Superbowl is coming up and you're, you know, I don't know if you make a, like meetings with agents or whatever, you know, like it just seems really weird, but he's already looking ahead past the Superbowl. He's looking to get paid. So now he's out in my book too. that far after the Super Bowl, though, you know, it's like No, into it there, you know, they got to take care of themselves too. they Mack obviously would be great, like in that scenario too, but is he going to be somebody that's out there, you know, for 60 70 percent of the plays or is he somebody that's going to want sort of like a Von Miller deal where he's you know, out there in pass rush situations? Because I don't know we can afford to have another guy that's not going to be out there, you know, every down for us. yeah opposite of hutch. I mean, it's a lot, it's been a rotation, so it Right. I just don't see us spending any money Exactly. It's been a rotation, but that's not been a rotation with somebody that you're paying 15 20 million dollars a year. Okay. pretty good three there. And then whoever's on the outside, so Darius is signed, but he's definitely a cut candidate just because of the dead money attached to it, or they could resign him for a cheaper deal. But it's an areas generally when it comes to that. Signs, he doesn't he'll just leave and try to, you know, he's going to sign for the most money. So I'm not convinced as the Darius is going to be back. But it's a possibility. Yeah, I don't know if anybody, I think another thing that we're going to look for Jacob is possibly a linebacker, depending on what Derek Barnes you know, and I don't know Malcolm hopefully, but he was injured at Thanksgiving. Hopefully he could be back for the start of the season, just depends on how he progresses with that injury. I could see us getting some linebacker depth this year. Drake Greenlaw is out there, and I really like him, obviously, you know, there's that injury history, so we don't know, yeah, but that might but yeah, you're right, a veteran linebacker would be Yeah. I think we're going to have to get someone, I don't know if it's going to be in this top 50 list, but there are a fair amount in there. I would like to get some more linebacker depth because just even if we Yeah, Derek Barnes, we just going to need some extra depth in there and our new defensive coordinator will be, you know, all about getting linebacker depth. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. Is there any other positions? I mean, we talked about guard, edge, wide receiver, linebacker, were there any other positions that you think the Lions are going to target in free agency? Yeah, I don't really think so. I mean, you look at our roster top down. I mean, in free agency in the draft, it's, you know, building from the trenches. You've got the line offensive line depth, defensive line depth, and then, you know, corner wide receiver, like you said, maybe linebacker. I saw in one of the, I don't remember what it was, but it was like positions of need and they listed running back. I was like, of all teams, the NFL, why would we need, you know, I think we're the most set at running back We got Craig out there. Craig could be resigned, you know, Ben Johnson want to steal him over in Chicago? I could see him wanting to do that, but then you're hoping that Vaki developed enough that he could take over the Craig Reynolds role. I mean, Craig Reynolds outside didn't play that much. I mean, he was good on special teams, but he didn't play it that much outside until Montgomery got hurt. You know, would Vaki just take over that role if, I mean, They're not going to be willing to pay Craig a ton of money. I mean, I a doubt. Craig's asking for a ton of money, but you're right. If Chicago's offering a more money and maybe a little bit bigger of a role, maybe he tries to do that, but yeah. For like running back to a position of need, it's just not. I don't see us picking up a running like maybe if Craig does sign elsewhere, maybe we look you know, to try to pick up some more running back for depth. I know Jamar Jefferson did not sign a futures contract, I believe. So he's probably on his way out, but that's somebody else that's just looking for an opportunity and it showed some flashes that he's just not going to get here. So I don't, you know, there's not gonna be any splash with the running backs for us. No, I don't think so. I mean, you could see a late round draft pick or something if they catch Brad Holmes eyes, but they tend to spend Maybe, but right. And there's just other, other more. Other more important positions that we're looking at. I mean, and you're right. Cornerback depend on what we do with Carlton. I think we're going to have to, you know, cause we're Vildor and Dorsey are both free agents, and Dorsey, I mean, had that really bad injury. Yeah, even know how, you know, that, that was more severe than Hutch's injury. So I don't know, what his if he's going to be able to return on right. The timeline. Yeah. with a Meeks injury, that was an arm. You know, those are easier to recover from, and you also be able to stay in shape and all that, because you're not rehabbing your leg and relearning how to walk and run and all that stuff. But I don't know, I, we have a really strong roster, everyone, you know, that listens to this knows that, or let's be reminded of that we had. lot of injuries. So even if we don't sign, you know, a lot of free agents, getting some of those players back, like Hutches, like the hugest free agent signing, adding him back Roughly right. it's we've kind of forgot what it's like to have him on the field. Which will be a real pleasant surprise to be able to get some pressure with just four guys, some real pressure Those were the days. they were at the days. Oh man. Let's look at Jacob. Let's look at you know, the players that we got last year and free agents. Jacob made the list. We put players on there. Just quickly go through the players and we'll talk about them. And, you know, whether that we aren't I don't Jacob and I talk about this. We don't want to grade these picks. I think that's pretty arbitrary, but you know, was it a success or not a success? So we can talk about it in that, into that term. So first player was Marcus Davenport and we had Amik Robertson, DJ reader, Kyle Peko, Kevin Seidler, Carlton Davis. We got in a trade and then Jake Bates free agent pickup. So. Which one, Jacob, out of those, the ones that seven I just listed, which one was our most valuable? Do you think that we got last year? You know, I guess if I had to pick one just out of those, I would say Carlton Davis just because cornerback was such a huge position of need last year coming into this year and we weren't entirely sure what we were going to get with him if he was going to, you know, if he was going to be able to hold it down and cover wide receiver ones consistently. And he absolutely stepped up to the challenge, you know, before he got that injury. So there are a couple of guys on this list that are definitely that were positive pickups. But I, yeah. I would say Carlton was the most valuable. What about you? If you had to pick one guy, not Carlton. I yeah, I can't pick Carlton, huh? There's some good, I mean, they're all, this list is a really good list when you mean, outside of Davenport had the injury. So, you know, you'd have to kind of say that's a push or that's a fail just because he wasn't out there. Paco also had an injury only played in five games. So then that one's, you know, kind of down, but outside of those two, everybody else were impact players. I mean, they all played a positive role on the team. Yeah. I'd say with Peko too, I mean, you're signing him because of we did the DJ reader injury. We had, you know, they were that what they're hedging their bets, whether DJ reader was going to be ready for the beginning of the year. So I really think that one's kind of thrown out for me, Marcus Davenport, you're figuring on him getting injured, just maybe not two games into the season, but. Yeah. I mean, you kind of knew that going in there, other ones man, you could make an argument, Jacob, for any of these guys that are left Right, right. You know, a meet came up huge, especially that last week. He was good all year. And then, you know, playing Justin Jefferson, the way he did DJ readers kind of unsung just because of what he doesn't get a ton of stats. We just, before all our linebackers got injured, he was just. You know, clogging up the line and letting the linebackers do their work. So he kind of got neutralized. I think when the linebackers got hurt, Zyler played really well. And I guess if I have to go with any of these guys, I'm going to go with Zyler just because the trenches are where we're built, you know, strong running game. Protected Jerry golf. He was able to do it all and to come in and step in and play with the other four guys that have been together. He came in and just. You know, did his thing. So I'd say Zyler was, would be on there. Jake Bates though had some game winners too. I mean, you could make an argument that Jake Bates came in once he had the full trust of Dan Campbell. Cause like week two at Tampa, we opted. The punt one, instead of kicking like a 50 some yard field goal, which that could have been the difference in that game later in the season. Dan Campbell kicks that instead of punts, you know, Jake Bates, you know, came through and what Minnesota, he had a game winner and he hit the game winner with Houston. There's yeah. I mean, he. Here's another game that, Oh, and then Green Bay to the week after Thanksgiving hit the game with effort. We went forward on fourth down. was clutch. And having that kicking game stabilized is great. And then that looks forward to the next year. And then also the great story of Jake Bates, you know, playing for the Michigan Panthers in Ford Field and then come back. So I guess Kevin Zeidler would be my pick. Although I think you can make the argument for Jake Bates or Meek Roberts and just as well. And a DJ reader was solid. I not you know, definitely really happy that we got DJ reader for another year. Right. I mean, that's why it's such a difficult question because really they all, I mean, Zyler was a good pick. He was our highest rated pickup in pro football focus. Like out of these guys, he was ranked highest. He only missed one game, you know, despite that was kind of a thing, his age, his durability and everything. We weren't sure. And he, you know, he definitely stepped up, but yeah, all these guys, all these guys stepped up. I mean, Brad Holmes knows what he's doing, I guess, huh? Yeah, exactly. It doesn't make, I have to make the hugest splash and sign the number one free agent on the list. These guys were huge contributors and, you know, Marcus Davenport, I just wrote, if he could have played he looked menacing in those games that he did play. And I'm sure that's the way he's looked at all his stops where he's had, where he's looks menacing. He is incredibly powerful. His bull rush is much unmatched in the NFL. He could just push anybody over and he just had that freak injury. But, you know, he's had a lot of injuries. I don't see us resigning him, but if his price goes down and, you know, he doesn't sign anywhere else, you know, we could give him another world. You just have to know that maybe you're only going to get four or five games out of them before he gets injured. Right, yeah, if we're going to bring him back, which I definitely, I would be open to bringing him back also, but you definitely have to drop those, the contract and you have to think he had, was it fully guaranteed or it was mostly guaranteed or something like, no, I think it 5 million or something like that. You know, I don't think, I mean, for an edge rusher, that's actually fairly reasonable as, But how many games has he played his entire career right? Exactly. We've got two games, so it was three and three million a game or whatever. Two games this year, four games the year before that for Minnesota. Yeah. No. Minnesota got them for the amount of games that we Yeah so you had a question on here. If you could only retain one of these players for next year, say they were all unsigned because you know, Meek DJ and Bates are all going to be on the team next year outside of them getting surprisingly cut, which isn't going to happen because they're all got signed for good contracts. Who would you bring back? you had to just pick one of these guys, is it going to be your Carlton Davis that you think I think I'm still gonna stick with CD. Right, right. I think I'm still gonna pick him. I mean, like we already said, these other guys are really valuable, but if we're, if we're just, in this scenario, we're picking one of these guys, the rest of them have to leave. Like, the rest were going for another team. I guess I would, I'm gonna leave it at CD, but that also makes it pretty close to me for DJ Reader, just because I don't want to lose him either. I don't lose any of these guys. I'm glad that, you know, Amik and DJ, Jake Bates, they're all signed. This is just hypothetical, but Yeah. Maybe that's why I'm picking CD is because he might be a actual reality that he's not going to be there. Yeah. We talked about Zydler. Yeah. I don't think I'd want to lose DJ reader in the middle. Especially if Aleem is going to be out for a little, I would, I. Yeah. think I'm going to go with DJ Reader, I guess, if I had to pick one out of all those guys Yeah. losing CD is going to be tough, but you're hoping you get a jump for Tarion, right? And then, like we Rick Straw. you know, does Amik go to the outside or Rakestraw go you know, into the slot? You get, we got some pieces that can move around. You know, we could also sign some death pieces and see how that goes. Rake straw is going to be a big player that I'm going to look for in this off season, right? I mean, we didn't get to see him much on the field. It's some injury risks or injuries, you know, hamstrings, which is terrible for corners and just take a long time to come back from. So I think we're all going to have our eyes on rake straw to see, you know, where the line safety fits and, you know, has. Has he grown, is he making a second year jump, even though he didn't get a lot of reps in the, during this season? Right. A lot of mental reps, hopefully. Yeah, But you know, that's somebody that a lot of mocks had him in the first round and we got him in the second. So we still hope for good things from him. yes, we do. Definitely. And I, yeah, I definitely haven't written him off. We would have liked to see more from a second round pick sure. But I don't, Jacob, we're talking about this. I read somewhere and I couldn't find the article that rake straw said that he was going to start game two in the slot before he got And that was a Tampa Bay game. Rake straw was like a late. inactive that he pulled a hamstring during practice, but rake straw said that he was told he was going to start in the slot that game that if that's true, crazy. Cause that means they had a lot of confidence in him and the hamstring really just, you know, knocked him out for the whole season. That would give me confidence going into next year. Yeah, it does. You know, it's a, it was a Sports Illustrated article and he says that he was going to have an opportunity to play the Tampa Bay week, he was going to be starting nickel and he got hurt in warmups and it was a setback. Yeah. Yeah. So When tough. That floored me a little bit. I was like, wow. You know, they were going to put them out there and how, you know, you wonder how the season would have been a little different, but then who are they going to set a meek? That seems weird that they would set a meek in week two. I just can't see that. You know, maybe that was early on. So I don't know. Maybe there, maybe that's part of the competition continuing into the season. Right? Like maybe, you know, he's playing really well, which we'll sell a racetrack and training camp. He actually looked really good. You know, so maybe they just need more time. They're going to let, let him start and let them see what happens. Unfortunately, that's not the way it played out. No. So that'll be an interesting development for next year where they're going to do it. And if he was going to start nickel, that would definitely give credence to pushing a meek to the outside. A meek showed he could do it last year. Anyone that could hold just Jefferson to 57 yards in, I mean, in essentially a playoff game, right? I mean, I know it was the end of the regular season, but that was for all intents and purposes, that was a playoff game you're going for, you know. one seed and getting that first round by you know, what it gave Sam Darnold another week to look terrible, I guess. Anything else you want to add on any of these players that that we just talked about Jacob, I think we, you know, had a positive off season last year. So I want to kind of just revisit the players that we lost last off season and we can compare how good we had it, I guess. you want to go through those players or you want me Yeah, let me, I'll run through them real quick. Just got a couple little facts about each one. The most notable one, I guess, for us was Josh Reynolds. We lost Josh Reynolds. He ended up signing a two year deal with Denver. He played five games with the Broncos. He scored one touchdown and was cut by the Broncos and claimed by the Jaguars. So he played a total of nine games between two teams this year. He had one touchdown. So not the way Josh Reynolds envisioned the season going. Jonah Jackson, the offensive lineman, signed a three year, 51 million deal with the Rams. As a result, we were able to get Zeitler. Jonah actually started the center week one in the game against us. He was injured in week two. He was all the way out until week 10 and then they benched him for week 11. So then he ended up playing later in the season, and he only played four total games throughout that, you know, last season. The other big one, I guess you would say, was C. J. Gardner Johnson. a three year deal with the Eagles. He played in 16 games for Philadelphia, and he only played in three games for us. And he had a really good year. 3rd in the league with 6 interceptions, 5th in past breakups. him, rated him 76, which is the 21st ranked safety. Turns out our safety is rated much higher than that. So, you know. But he's getting ready to start in the Super Bowl for the Eagles. So, you know, that stings a little bit there too. Two other notable defensive backs that we lost or chose not to re sign. Tracy Walker. He signed with the 49ers after, you know, we chose not to sign him. He did not make the roster. He spent time on the 49ers practice squad. But he did not play in a single game this year. And he played in 17 games for us the previous season. So that shows what kind of depth and everything we were in. And also. You know, just Tracy Walker, I guess not quite cutting it anymore. Somebody that I did like, though, I like Tracy Walker. It just was somebody that's like, you're just not not quite there. The last one, Cam Sutton was under contract with us, but he was released after he had the whole arrest warrant and everything. Signed a one year deal with the Steelers. He was suspended eight games by the NFL. He ended up playing in nine games total. Only two of those were starts. And his pro football focus grade was fifty three point five, which ranked him one hundred and sixty ninth out of two hundred and twenty three. So, I guess top down you look at it, did Brad Holmes, in your opinion, do you think Brad Holmes, did we miss on any of these guys? The only one that I think could have fit on the scene at any point would be Josh Reynolds. And I think he would have had a better season. He was, I mean, I, you didn't mention it in your little summary there, but he was shot during the middle of the season. right. you know, I'm not going to get into all that, but then that was the reason why he only played the five games and then he got I think he had a different injury though, right? Like he got injured and then he got shot while he was already out. Yeah, something like that, right? I mean, all that just, you know, and Should have been rehabbing. right? Yeah, exactly. Then he, you know, the Jaguars surprisingly picked up his contract, you know, and he might end up doing good last year. like Tim Patrick in the Josh Reynolds role. I think the only thing I think would have been differences earlier in the season before you know, we lost. Tampa Bay. I think we have Josh Reynolds in that game. It might play out a little bit different. Just jerk off might be more comfortable than he was with Tim Patrick at that moment. I remember Tim Patrick made a wrong, it looked like he ran a wrong route at some point and jerk off through a really bad interception. Josh Reynolds probably doesn't do that in that game. I mean, That's the only one that I could see miss. I didn't. CJ, like you mentioned, CJ Gardner Johnson, good player. I, you know, he's like one of those guys that if he's on your team, you can get behind him, but you just can't stand him when he's on the other team because his mouth is always talking. We had really good safety play this year. So did we miss CJ Gardner? Probably not. And CJ would not have been happy here playing less snaps. We would have had, you know, he could have played, you know, the, if he roll, cause Exactly what I was going to say, You could say that, but he wasn't too happy last year when he came back for the playoffs and there was three players playing, you know, three safeties playing you know, he didn't come here to. Play like that is what he said last year. Jonah, that we didn't resign him. He was injured before I don't think the Rams did him any favors, moving him to center and all that, you know, whatever they did, but yeah, that was a. Brad Holmes read the tea leaves on that by moving on from Jonah Jackson, you know, cam Sutton, that's a no brainer. You know, he can't do what he did and still be on the scene. Even what he did was despicable or accused of doing was despicable. But then his play last year was despicable as well. So I, you know, we rid ourselves of that. And Tracy, again, we don't need any extra safety help, but. I like Tracy as a person, but ever since he got injured, he just was never the same player after that. And, you know, he, the NFL thinks the same thing too, because he didn't a snap this year. right? I mean, when I'm looking, I definitely agree that Josh Reynolds would have been the best to keep on the team. And we kind of talked about that all off season, right? Like who's going to step into this role, who's going to be, and it ends up being Tim Patrick, but you know. Not as soon as we would have liked it to be. He also was a late addition in training camp and everything too, so You know, it just would have I think that would have made that our team better And I think that would have made Josh Reynolds season better, you know, he started off, you know I think two seasons ago. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but he had a pretty good year last year He increased on pretty much all of his numbers And then you would hope with that trajectory that this year he's going to do even better and, you know, you know, get even more targets in the red zone and everything. And he, you know, he decided to sign elsewhere. Other than that, I, I think we made the right decision on pretty much every single one of these guys. CJ is a good player. Would have been nice to have him, but, you know, we've got Iffy. We don't know that if he's going to go through the injury and, you know, we had already signed CJ the year before and he only played three games, Yep. know, so he wasn't available. I'm happy that we moved on, it turned out well for us, but I think that Jonah probably would have benefited the most from staying put in Detroit. You know, Zytler wouldn't have been here, he would have been able to continue on his play last year. I just think we upgraded, and I mean that was really, I think it was his doing, right? I feel like there was a contract offer, like the Lions wanted to keep him, but he wanted more money and went to the Rams. Yeah, I don't know if the, he, I mean, the lions weren't going to sign him for 17 million a year, No. you know, at some point, you know, you want a strong line play, but he was injured that last year with the lions a lot and his play was not worth 17 million. And. You know, Brian Holmes just made the right move. I think Jonah, I think you're right. He probably has a better season if he's with the lions, if he stays healthy, we'll see if he's a player that can't stay healthy the last two seasons. He's missed starts, miss sizable amount of time. Know, we'll see, you know, he's not aligned anymore, so I guess I don't care as much, but Yeah, right. You know, you hope good things for him, But you talk about all the players that we signed and how much of an impact that they made, and then you talk about the players that we did not sign or that we let go, and it really looks like you know, we came out on top, basically, on almost all of these. yes, I'll say on all of them, because the only one that you could have made a case for would have been CJ, and Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph both graded out higher and both played better this year. yeah, I mean, you've saved money because you, we weren't going to sign CJ for a three year deal, Right. but you look like Kirby did his job, led the league of interceptions, Brian branch, they still were moving him around just because of the injuries, we did get to play him at safety. As much as the lions probably wanted. I will be interested with Glenn gone, what we're going to, you know, where Brian's going to play next year. Cause I did, I liked him at safety, but I also really like him close to the line. Cause he is. in that position. He's just a, such a smart player. He gets tackles for loss on running backs. And when you're closer to the line, it seems like he has more opportunity for that. So I'll be interested how they use Brian next year. How Calvin Shepard uses Brian. next year. Definitely. All right, let's move on to the the pro bowl games. Like I said, in the intro, we're not going to dwell on this. is what it is. Golf wins MVP, you know, whatever that means, but it's good to see our guy get some recognition and Jameer Gibbs gets an interception, Jacob, an interception in this game. The guy could do it all. Yeah, It would have been a pick six too, for anybody watching, they you know, the players from the sideline all ran out to prevent him from scoring. This is not any sort of competitive game. This, you know, obviously there's a little bit of competition just because, you know, they're NFL players, but they're out there having a good time. It's not, they don't care who wins or loses. No. So I don't know if you, I didn't watch a lot on Sunday. I was watching, I think the Redman Pistons, Pistons playing. I was watching that game, whatever Detroit. Yeah, it was the They both played. yeah, I was watching the Pistons play instead of the Bowl games, but I did watch Thursday night with my boys. That was the quarterback challenge. They had the spike contest. They had the relay race, they had some other games, so it got me thinking, Jacob, if you could make an event for the Pro Bowl games, what, did you have any ideas of what event you would come up with? I have four, so I'll let you start first. I have a couple of them, but I think the one that would be very cool you know, they had like the relay race kind of thing, but, you know, in the NBA for the All Star, they have a skills challenge, which is, it's like an obstacle course you know, they start with the ball, it's passing, dribbling, shooting, you know, they got to run up and down the court, I think that you do that and have like all, you know, you'll have players of all positions compete, so it'd be something, if you're making it similar to NBA, you have like, you know, you start the ball, You have to complete a 10 yard pass, then after you make that pass, then it's like a 40 yard sprint through like tackling dummies or obstacles or whatever. And then you could have like you know, they had the long snap thing where you got to snap it against the wall. Can you imagine like golf or Gibbs or somebody's got to snap the ball at a target like 5 or 10 yards away. And then after you hit that, you either like, you know, maybe you have to make another pass or like the timer stops when you hit like a field goal. Like at the end, you got to take like a 20 yard field goal or whatever. But, you know, we got like, you know, Frank Wagner or, you know, you just got other people, other positions doing stuff like that. I think that would be fun. I like it. I like when you get people out of their comfort zone and doing things and they're just doing it for fun. I like that idea. That's fun. I liked the one on Thursday night, they had the QB competition. They were just thrown at the movie targets. I liked that. I remember the competitions when I was younger, they would, when they were in Hawaii, they would have this thing where they basically had a golf cart with a basket and it would just go out and the quarterback had to throw it in the basket. So I'd add something like that to the game. You know, you could have the moon shot in there. Russell Wilson would, you know, would have probably done really good in a, an event like that. So I'd add that in one thing that you mentioned that the NBA, like the Doug contest, I want vote, but I want a quarterback wide receiver, combination and they have to throw like some toe taps, like in the back of the end zone or wide receiver has got to make some amazing catch and you vote on it. So like something like that, or you could throw it off the field goal post and you know, got to catch it off that anything you could think of, I, like a voting thing would be fun. Did you see? So they did one. I don't know if that was last year, what year was, but I'm in raw one, but it was like they tried to make like the dunk thing, but it was just, you know, creative catching. Yeah. Yeah. So that was cool. I think you would add the quarterback of the wide receiver and just try to do And make a difficult catch instead of just, you know, a front flip or whatever they were doing. Yeah. Yeah, agreed. one thing that I would do, and this just wouldn't have to be with Pro Bowl players. They need to bring the fastest man competition where they got these players racing. Cause I would love to see DK Tyreek and Jamo. I'd love to see those guys just a track meet and just seeing them go as fast as they can. No. No. Right? Yeah, they did a relay race, but that's not the same. You're right. They need to have just, you know, they can have different heats of like four players and you got somebody in the final. They did something like that before, but Yeah, they yeah, they they used to do that like back in the day, they just had the fastest fan competition and I wouldn't limit it to whoever was made the pro bowl because I'd want, Well, those are the guys that are there. Well, you know, when it was in Hawaii or Miami, Oh, And then my last one that I come up with was a field goal competition, but then instead of like just trying to make the field goals, like you get points for trying to hit the post on purpose, right? And you could get more points hitting the post or and if it went in, you would get an extra point or if it bounces out, you wouldn't. you might get some points for just hitting the post. So I, I just think something like that. Or you could have it where you have a skinnier post. Like it's not the regulation size. Like they're really thin and you Oh yeah. for, or you have like multiple posts. Like you would get so much if you're in the. In the outer post, but then you get bonus points for hitting it down the middle more, so Like the Madden Madden training camp field goal back in like Madden Oh four. Yeah. Something like that. I could see that. So anything like that, I think those games are like, that'd be fun. Cause I, I think I would just even really get rid of the flag football game and just have more of these mini games, like man and mini games, like what you just said, I think that those are just more fun. Right. Did you have any more or the, did I tap you out? No. Yeah. I mean, I also thought what if they just did like, you know, obviously it's not football, but if you did a three point contest, just like NBA all star week, and you do a three point contest, that's something that they would be. I know the football players would be highly competitive at that. They're going to be talking trash. They're going to be trying their best, trying to make these three points and everything. So that would be cool. Also, you know, like when you're young, you're playing jackpot, so, you know, you throw the ball up and then it's like You don't have to necessarily have it worth a little value or whatever, but you could have them have a quarterback throw it up, have a punter kick the ball, like maybe you have like you know, Jameer Gibbs on one side, then you got Amun Ra on the other or whatever, you got a punter that punts the ball towards the end zone, they basically have to race to the ball and try to see who gets the ball first and downs it. I like that. That's Something else to show speed and also a little bit of chance, a little bit of skill because you're trying to play the ball because these are, you know, none of these players are gunners, none of these guys do that on a regular basis. I think even you said a three point cut, that's just having them play basketball. Having a three on three or something Someone who would get hurt. I know. That's the thing about, like, yeah, it'd be competitive for sure. Yeah, linemen just post you up or something like that. Oh my god, just Shaquille O'Neal you to the rim. So yeah I don't really get super hyped up for these Pro Bowl games. I do like that they've taken it away from trying to make it a real game where you're tackling people because The players weren't into it. It wasn't fun flag football is definitely more fun, but I liked these mini games. I really enjoyed watching it with my boys. I don't know if they weren't around, if I would watch, if I'd have spent time watching it, but it was fun, fun watching it with my kids. I did the quarterback challenge cause golf kick but. yeah, right. No, that's just fun to watch, though. Yeah. And it's better that you mentioned it, but it's better now that they have, like, the digital scoreboards and stuff and the moving things. Because I remember, you know, when I was a little watching, they would have that football and the ball was, like, dipped in chalk and they would throw it at the targets and have to see if the chalk hit. Oh, yes. That's a long time ago. I was like Phillip Rivers and Peyton Manning and Hey, Manny. I remember Brett Favre. They had the long throw con competition. yeah, right. yeah, that would, that'd be sweet to see. I'd like to see something like that again. All right, Jacob, let's move on to a real game here. Super Bowl. It's coming up. On Sunday, don't think either of us are really looking forward to watching either of these two teams play. Of course, I'll be watching the game. So let's do a couple of our predictions here. Chiefs are favored by a point and a half. You got to pick, you got to pick on this chiefs Eagles. Yeah, I mean, I really, I don't care for either of these teams. We talked about it briefly before, but it's kind of a toss up for me as far as like who I want to win. I don't think I'm rooting one way or another. I think Saquon deserves this, Quinion Mitchell from Toledo. I feel like the Eagles are going to get it done, but I see, I go back and forth, even me saying it out loud. It's like, no, I don't want that to happen, but it's like, well, do I want the Chiefs to three peat? I don't know if I want that either. I don't want the chiefs to repeat, but I also, I feel like if they repeat, then it's over. And then they're like, they're not going to go, you know, that could LC retires. Half the players probably go elsewhere. I, if it ends the chiefs like reign of terror here, then I'm I'll take that if for some reason, you know, not that we're going to know this, but I'm just saying that I would take that. I would just, you know, be done with the chiefs, let Josh Allen get a turn, let Lamar Jackson get a turn and the super bowl and we'll see, I don't know. Let's see if I want to pick, I I'm going with the Eagles too. I Yeah. I think the Eagles defense is going to be a little too much for the Chiefs, but we'll see. Who knows? We'll see what the boys in the stripes say during this game, because that'll be a huge talking point. Oh yeah, no matter what. Yep. All right. The next thing I want you to predict Jacob over under it's it was when I looked at this yesterday was 48 and a half. So that's what we're going to go with over under and 48 and a half. I'm going to say under, I'm going to say exactly 48. Oh, exactly 40 even call that out. I mean, now I'm going to have to People are going to be sweating. People betting on this game are going to be sweating. If they're betting the over or the under, because that's going to be sitting right at 48. Yeah, I'm going to go. I'm going to go the under to the Chiefs somehow are trying to come back in the last they don't get to touch on it sits. It sits at the under so I don't know. I'm not going to predict a point total, but yeah, I'm going to say it goes to the under You about wrote the script right there, because that's what, that's probably what's going to happen. They get the ball, they're like, can my homes do it again? They drive down, they go for it on fourth and long, they don't get it. There's the late flag. Illegal contact or something, they get another shot. History repeats itself. No, but does Mahomes get like the diving throw that he had in the Super Bowl versus Tampa Bay where he's you know, fully you know, parallel with the ground and he throws that dart and hits his receiver rate in the face mask and he drops it. You know, maybe he'll complete it this time. That'd be the story. Yeah, I think we're done seeing that. Yeah. All right. My last thing that I want you to predict is over under on the tush push in the game. And three and a half. You think we're going to see Jalen Hurtsu at, you know, three and under or more than three times you think it's going to happen in the game? I'm gonna say over. But does this, just for that formation, or this is the actual act of Hertz getting pushed like that? Do feel like they're gonna line up and they're gonna try something. try something different because you got Chris Jones hovering over the Right. I, I can sense that. I mean, they're definitely, they're gonna do two or three. It's going to happen a couple times. I mean, I guess I'm going to say over, but I do think that there's going to be some sort of trickery involved. Maybe they line up on third and one on a chance where they know, like, hey, if this, if this doesn't go our way, we can just try it again on fourth. I'm fourth. Yeah. Cause I mean, they'll do it. Like I've seen them on you know, third and two, they'll just do the tush push. And if they don't get it, they'll just run it another time. Exactly. two and you know, half the downs can be a tush push. So I think it's going to be over too. I don't know how to fix that play. Like I think it's a boring play. I think it's really hard to stop but you know, no one seems to be able to do it like the Eagles be able to do it. You looked at Josh Allen got stopped, but they didn't push him at all. They just thought Josh Allen was going to push forward, I mean, when you've got Jalen Hurts can squat like 500 pounds, you've got two tight ends and you're running back and Saquon also can probably squat 500 pounds. So that's, you know, probably 2000 pounds of pressure coming at you. And when you're the defense, you can't, you can't move. Well, you saw what the commanders, how many times they jumped off sides, they almost awarded them a touchdown. Anyway, Yeah. you just can't, I mean, you can't stop it. You can't stop that much force coming at you when you're not allowed to move until they've already snapped and started moving forward. You know, you talked about all those people be able to squat, you would David Montgomery take the snap and be able to do it because he could squat like 700. So you know, you could just put David Montgomery do it. You see a lot of teams now, you know, put their tight end in motion like they did with Tucker craft. Green Bay does it. I've seen it where they put their, you know, a player in motion and that player just takes a snap and push forward. That's more of a trick play. You know, you're trying to Cause guard. Jordan love is a dainty little girl and can't do it himself. Oh man, you know, maybe They put in 55 protect the, they spent too much money. They can't have them getting hurt. Caleb Williams can't do it. Cause he might mess up his nails. Yeah. He might break his nails. Do you think Ben Johnson's paints his nails this year? Oh man, Oh that would be terrible. yeah, I just, you know. I think he always said something about, you know, you know, just being an offense that wasn't tailored for him. And I started to get a pit in my stomach. I'm like, I just don't want Ben Johnson over there, you know, developing offense for this guy. You know, I don't want them to be any more successful than they are Right. this year. Just very unlikable. Yeah, I know, you know, we're hoping that, you know, I don't want to root against Ben Johnson because actually, I mean, he did such good things with the Lions, but I also think a lot of it's Dan Campbell and now Dan Campbell's not, you know, not with Ben Johnson. So it's going to be, I guess we're going to find out. we're going to find out, you know, and, uh, find out real quick. It'll be interesting. I think the NFC North is going to be a lot different next year. we'll see. I. I think we're going to have fun talking with our, you know, a reef and you know, Harrison about, you know, the bears and getting dusty on and it'll be, I got to know Dusty's thought on Jordan Love. Like I know that he's kind of more Homer ish, I think. And I think he'll be all about Jordan, but from the outside looking in scary, I'd be scared if I was a Packers fan. That's what we kind of asked him during the season and he, he stood behind it. He was okay with it. So Yeah. we'll see what contracts come out. If any, you know, I just, you know, it doesn't make sense to me, but you know, good. Yeah. No, They overpaid. They overpaid and then they're going to, you know, not be able to get, be, will they get wide receivers for their quarterback? Cause they just kept ignoring it for you know, Aaron Rogers and Rumors, rumors are that Devante Adams wants to come back to Green Bay, Yeah, I just don't know. go ahead and pay him just as much as he's wanting. And then it still is not going to turn out for you. No, I, you know, Jordan Love still has to throw it off his back foot and Yeah. you know, but I, I don't want Devante Adams going back there. I just don't want any more talented players going, you know, go sink, go into this division, but it wouldn't freak me out if he went there. I don't think that transformed them very much. He's better than anyone they got there though, but. You know, he's getting older too. Does Right. I don't think that would turn out very well. He might have a good year because they're going to be feeding him targets. Yeah, right. Does the Taco Bell move? Like it's already moved from Green Bay to Vegas. And then now I had to go to New York. Does he get another Taco Bell in his house and the one in Green Bay? Just get the same one back, right? Yeah, that guy. I mean, that one employee in there. I mean, I hope he's getting paid more minimum wage to move Yeah. all these houses for Devante. His private Taco Bell chef. Yeah, exactly. Asked me, he's is this real? Does he really have a Taco Bell in his house? I was like, no Preston, it is, it's a commercial. watched that receiver show, right? Did he watch that with you? He watched like the first couple episodes, but Okay. the whole Well, because there's a part where they show Devante Adams go to the Taco Bell headquarters and like he gets to try out all the food and stuff before they release it. Yeah. That'd be a pretty sweet deal. Yeah, right. Although I only get the JJ loves Taco Bell. Bell. I get tacos. That's all I get is crunchy tacos. That's all I ever get. J. J. has to, like, any time it's like, let's just get something while we're out, he wants Taco Bell. Every day of the week. Like no. so expensive, man. It used to be so cheap, but now it's Crazy expensive. I don't get it. Right? easiest, it's the cheapest thing to put together. Yeah. corn shell, a little sliver of meat and lettuce and cheese. It's crazy. still costs some 89 cents to make it, but they're gonna charge you 3 for a taco. know that's insane. all right. We've devolved into talking about Taco Bell. So I think it's time for us to head out here. Jacob, it's always great talking lions with you. Got a big game on Sunday and then, you know, the season just going to start rolling. You know, we're going to be in a free agent talk and then draft talk will be coming and that'll be good. I've been looking at mock drafts it's still very early, but I've been looking at them. And so we'll get into that as the season progress off season progresses here. For sure. I've been looking at the Senior Bowl, I'm looking at prospects. Yeah, I know. Got anybody out your eye on right now? I do. But I actually, you know, I don't know if it was Pride of Detroit that mocked him to us, Mike Green, the edge defender out of Marshall. Okay. I don't remember if I showed you that. I was gonna try to show you that at work when he ran over that. Oregon offensive tackle at the senior bowl practice, but No, you didn't show he was like you know I don't know if marshall is the sun belt or what division they are But he was like player of the year all kinds of accolades smaller edge rusher right now End of the first or second round so he's gonna fall right where we need him to Yeah, we'll see. Ed Rushers tend to, depends on what they do in the combine. If they do Exactly they shoot up real fast. Who knows? But Brad Holmes has shown if he likes someone, he will move up in that draft. Gotta pay attention. if we still have those picks and we haven't gotten rid of them for miles garrett Not going to happen. Yeah, so yeah, but you couldn't, I mean the line where the lines are picking at the end of the first round too. I, you know, I just can't see it. it makes it a little easier to let go right? Yeah, it'd be easier to let go for us, but if you're, you know, you're never going to be able to get anywhere at the Miles Garrett's level at that end of the draft most part, I mean there are Max Crosby got in the fourth round I mean those players happen, but Miles Garrett's a freak. He's you right one of the few Crazy good at rushers. So out there, TJ watt, you know, our guy Hutch up there too. All right, some of this talk for later on. So for Jacob, I'm Jason. Let's go lions.
